  • Understanding resilience in lower grade glioma (LGG) patients is essential.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To explore resilience levels in adult LGG patients.
  • To identify factors influencing resilience in this population.

Main Methods:

  • Cross-sectional study of 74 adult LGG patients from the LoG-Glio registry.
  • Data collected via phone interviews using validated scales (RS-13, distress thermometer, MoCA-Blind, ISBI, ECOG, PPQ) and clinical parameters.

Main Results:

  • 38% of LGG patients demonstrated low resilience.
  • Resilience correlated significantly with distress, cognitive function (MoCA), performance status (ECOG), stigmatization, and pain.
  • Multivariate analysis identified elevated ECOG performance status and stigmatization as key negative predictors of resilience.

Conclusions:

  • Low resilience is prevalent in over one-third of LGG patients.
  • Poor functional status (ECOG) is a significant risk factor for low resilience.
  • The substantial impact of stigmatization on resilience is a novel finding requiring clinical attention in glioma patients.
