Neural signal variability relates to maladaptive rumination in depression

Maladaptive rumination, specifically brooding, is linked to reduced brain signal variability in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) in women with depression. This finding suggests decreased neural flexibility may contribute to depression pathophysiology.
