  • Scoping literature review of peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and gray literature.
  • Searched databases including SPORTDiscus, Sociological Abstracts, and Google Scholar.
  • Included 42 studies and 15 gray literatures with 1430 racialized participants.

Main Results:

  • Paucity of literature overall, with no studies on racialized trans women's experiences.
  • Some successful programs identified, but widespread discrimination and limited access to culturally relevant opportunities noted.
  • Experiences of discrimination based on race and language were prevalent.

Conclusions:

  • Need for more research disaggregating "immigrants" into specific groups.
  • Importance of addressing intersectional identities and barriers in sport.
  • Call to document racism, white privilege, and the joys of sport participation for racialized women.
