    Background:

    • The World Health Organization (WHO) aims for measles elimination, with the Immunization Agenda 2021-2030 (IA2030) setting regional targets.
    • Measles elimination relies on rigorous surveillance and achieving 95% coverage with two doses of measles-containing vaccine (MCV).

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To describe progress toward measles elimination from 2000 to 2021.
    • To analyze global vaccination coverage, surveillance sensitivity, incidence, and mortality.
    • To identify challenges and recommend strategies for regaining progress.

    Main Methods:

    • Analysis of global measles vaccination coverage data (MCV1).
    • Evaluation of measles surveillance sensitivity indicators.
    • Assessment of reported measles incidence and estimated deaths.

    Main Results:
