Pharmaco-invasive percutaneous coronary intervention (PI-PCI) offers better outcomes than late primary PCI (pPCI) for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. PI-PCI should be considered when timely pPCI is not feasible, even if rescue PCI is needed.

- Even with a need for rescue PCI in a third of cases, PI-PCI demonstrates superior outcomes to late pPCI.
