Elevated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) phosphorylated tau (p-tau181) levels are observed in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease (NIID), even without amyloid accumulation. This suggests altered tau phosphorylation or secretion mechanisms in NIID patients.
