Low mortality despite temporary liver dysfunction in severe courses of acute hepatitis E

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection can lead to severe hepatitis, but this study found low ICU admissions and mortality. Most severe HEV cases required hospitalization, with stable diagnosis rates observed over a decade.
