  • They can present as prolapsing vaginal tissue, mimicking other conditions.
  • Patients may experience discomfort and anxiety due to the visible tissue.

Observation:

  • A case of a nulliparous adolescent female with a large vaginal fibroepithelial polyp is presented.
  • The polyp measured 5x4 cm and originated from the distal posterior vagina on a broad stalk.
  • The patient presented with tissue protruding from the vagina.

Findings:

  • Transperineal surgical excision was successfully performed.
  • This minimally invasive approach effectively removed the polyp.
  • The diagnosis of vaginal fibroepithelial polyp was confirmed.

Implications:

  • Vaginal fibroepithelial polyps should be considered in the differential diagnosis of prolapsing vaginal tissue, particularly in young patients without risk factors for pelvic organ prolapse.
  • Vaginal excision is a viable and effective treatment option.
  • Continued gynecological surveillance is advised due to the possibility of polyp recurrence.
