Background:

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the need for organizational adaptability and rapid technology adoption.
Dynamic business environments require organizations to leverage change as opportunity, necessitating swift strategic responses.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop a framework supporting strategic agility in technology adoption and IT governance.
To ensure new technology aligns with long-term organizational strategy, especially under time constraints.

Main Methods:

Design Science Research (DSR) was employed to create the Strategic Agile Model Driven IT Governance (StratAMoDrIGo) framework.
The framework integrates an ontology, the NFR Model (strategic-level), and the i* Strategic Rationale Model (management-level).

Main Results:

StratAMoDrIGo identifies value sources for strategy, stakeholders, and users.
The framework was applied to a hospital case during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating its practical utility.
It enables ex-ante evaluation of strategic opportunities from technology adoption.

Conclusions:

Strategic agility is crucial for navigating disruptive events like pandemics.
The StratAMoDrIGo framework provides a model-driven approach to enhance IT governance and strategic alignment.
