Summary

Platinum-dispersed manganese oxide (Pt-MnO2) catalysts effectively remove carcinogenic formaldehyde (HCHO) indoors. This study shows dispersed Pt on MnO2 is superior to embedded Pt for HCHO oxidation, offering practical applications.
