Summary

The UK's National Control Programmes (NCPs) effectively reduced Salmonella in commercial laying flocks, with significant annual decreases in Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) and Salmonella Typhimurium (ST) prevalence. Official sampling by the Competent Authority (CA) proved more sensitive than operator sampling in detecting infected flocks.
