Summary

Renal tumor resections show favorable survival rates, challenging the necessity of complete kidney removal. Careful patient selection and regular monitoring are key for successful outcomes in kidney tumor surgery.

Traditional management of renal tumors often involved nephrectomy.
Advancements in surgical techniques and imaging have opened new possibilities for conservative management.

Observation:

Review of nine renal resections for renal tumors, including bilateral cases.
Clear-cell tumors are typically well-demarcated and amenable to resection.
Granular-cell tumors are often central and infiltrative, posing greater surgical challenges.

Findings:

Patients with bilateral renal tumors demonstrated favorable long-term survival (72 and 37 months).
Solitary tumor cases showed varied outcomes, with one developing metastasis and another remaining recurrence-free for 31 months.
High survival rates were observed post-resection, supporting organ-sparing approaches.
