Abstract:
In 50% of patients with ocular myopathy with palpebral ptosis there is a familial occurrence. Only a few reports demonstrate several cases in a single family, however. Five patients within 1 family who had operations are discussed in this article. Methods used were levator resection and levator tucking. Follow-up results 9 years postoperatively were considered good to very good, and there were no signs of recurrence of the palpebral ptosis at that time.
