Summary

Mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP) patients with specific antibodies (anti-LAD-1 IgA, anti-DEJ IgG) face a higher risk of refractory disease. Blindness risk increases with age, initial bilateral ocular involvement, and scarring, even with unilateral or non-scarring initial presentation.
