  • To develop and validate the Peripheral Arterial Disease Knowledge Questionnaire (PADKQ).
  • To assess the impact of an educational intervention on PAD knowledge.

  • A longitudinal study involving 114 PAD patients assessed using the PADKQ at two time points, with an educational intervention between sessions.
  • Sociodemographic, clinical, physical activity (IPAQ), and walking impairment (WIQ) data were collected.
  • Reliability (internal consistency, temporal stability) and validity (content, convergent) of the PADKQ were evaluated.

Main Results:

  • The PADKQ demonstrated good reliability (kr-20=0.775) and validity.
  • Patients showed high initial PAD knowledge (10.96/16), which significantly improved post-intervention (p<.001).
  • Only half recognized PAD seriousness or smoking as a risk factor; higher education correlated with physical activity.
