Summary

Unilateral or asymmetrical bony wedge resection effectively straightens twisted noses, showing significant improvement in types C and I deviations. This rhinoplasty modification offers excellent to good outcomes for most patients.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the effectiveness of unilateral or asymmetrical bony wedge resection for correcting nasal deviation.
  • To compare outcomes for different types of twisted nose deformities.

Main Methods:

  • Objective angle measurements from frontal view photographs (preoperative and postoperative).
  • Analysis of 78 patients with twisted nose types C and I.
  • Utilized Scion Image software for angle measurements and Excel for statistical analysis.

Main Results:

  • Statistically significant improvement (P < 0.01) in nasal angle correction for both twisted nose types.
