Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the long-term outcomes of primary rhinoplasty using the Tajima technique with overcorrection.
  • To compare the results in patients with unilateral cleft lip nose deformity to those without overcorrection and to a non-cleft control group.
  • To evaluate patient satisfaction and objective nasal symmetry following the procedure.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of 103 patients with unilateral cleft lip nose deformity underwent primary rhinoplasty with overcorrection (Tajima technique).
  • A comparison group of 30 patients with unilateral cleft lip and nasal deformity (no overcorrection) and 27 non-cleft individuals were included.
  • Outcomes were measured using FACE-Q scales for patient satisfaction and computer-based photogrammetric analysis for nasal symmetry.
