Background:

Purpose of the Study:

• To introduce and evaluate a new technique for nasal tip reconstruction using an absorbable gelatin sponge following nasal dermoid cyst excision.

• A 13-year-old female with a nasal tip dermoid cyst underwent excision via open rhinoplasty.
• A defect of 2.2 cm diameter was managed by filling the cavity with a shaped absorbable gelatin sponge.
• The skin was then draped over the cartilage and sponge construct.

• The procedure resulted in an uneventful postoperative period.
• A 2-year follow-up showed the patient remained asymptomatic with satisfactory nasal tip contour.

Conclusions:

• Absorbable gelatin sponge provides a viable, simple, and effective method for nasal tip reconstruction after dermoid cyst removal.
• This technique achieves good aesthetic results and patient satisfaction.
