Abstract:
Behavioral insights have long been used by companies to increase sales. Over the past ten years, their use has increased in the development of public policies, particularly in relation to health promotion and prevention, as well as within healthcare institutions. For example, behavioral insights have been used to encourage healthy eating, to increase patient vaccination in general practitioners' offices or patient safety in hospitals. These approaches are cheap and complementary to regulatory approaches but are also criticized. In Switzerland, their use is little formalized. Better knowledge and additional reflection about their use would create a context that promotes a responsible use.
