The hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype (HTWP) is common in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, indicating increased cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF). This phenotype is linked to higher rates of hypertension, diabetes, and obesity in RA.

Purpose of the Study:

- Lipid profiles were analyzed, calculating the atherogenic index (AI) and Framingham Risk Score. HTWP was defined as waist circumference ≥88 cm and triglycerides ≥150 mg/dL.

- The hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype (HTWP) is prevalent in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and is associated with multiple cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF).
- Further longitudinal studies are warranted to explore the predictive value of HTWP for cardiovascular events in RA patients.
