Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the diagnostic yield of Abrams and Cope needles for pleural biopsy.

  • 24 patients with pleural effusion underwent simultaneous pleural biopsies using both Abrams and Cope needles.
  • Biopsy sites were within 5 cm of each other.
