Intra-Host Evolution Provides for the Continuous Emergence of SARS-CoV-2 Variants

New severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants with multiple mutations can emerge in hospitalized patients within one month. Continuous sequencing surveillance is recommended for high-risk COVID-19 patients to monitor viral evolution.
