Abstract:
Six types of evidential breath testing (EBT) machines were tested in a laboratory. The testing experiments are classified into three paragraphs: analytical performance, sampling and operating conditions. In order to characterize the analytical performance a set of parameters (repeatability, reproducibility, linearity, accuracy, specificity) was established. The results were, in general, good, although an underestimation of the actual vapour concentration was observed. Different types of EBT machines showed significant differences measuring the same vapour.
