Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and evaluate novel, water-washable ceramic catalyst filters (CCFs) for simultaneous PM and VOC removal.
  • To assess the performance, capacity, and reusability of the developed CCFs.
  • To demonstrate the potential of CCFs for sustainable, long-term air purification.

Main Methods:

  • Fabrication of CCFs by coating inner and outer channels with an inorganic membrane and a Cu2O/TiO2 photocatalyst.
  • Testing CCF performance for simultaneous removal of PM (>95%) and VOCs (>82%).
  • Evaluating dust loading capacity and regeneration capability through water washing over multiple cycles.

Main Results:

  • CCFs achieved >95% PM and >82% VOC removal in a single pass.
  • Maximum dust loading capacity was four times higher than conventional filters (20 g/L vs 5 g/L).
