Plasma and cerebrospinal fluid inflammatory markers and human aggression

Inflammation markers in blood, not cerebrospinal fluid, correlate with aggressive behavior in humans, particularly those with Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED). This suggests peripheral inflammation influences aggression differently than central inflammation.

- Pro-inflammatory proteins may influence brain-based aggression through mechanisms not reflected in lumbar CSF.
- Findings highlight a dissociation between peripheral inflammation and central inflammatory markers in relation to human aggression.
