Summary

The optimal threshold for compressing technetium-99m-labeled methylene diphosphonate (99mTc-MDP) bone scan images using discrete cosine transformation (DCT) is 10. This method achieved an average compression factor of 13.03, with most compressed images deemed acceptable by physicians.
