Background:

  • The Ortho One PROMT score (OPS) was developed in 2019 to assess meniscal repairability.
  • Factors influencing meniscal repairability require continuous refinement of predictive tools.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the modified PROMT score (MPS) against the original OPS for predicting meniscal repairability.
  • To determine if MPS offers improved accuracy over OPS.

Main Methods:

  • A prospective, double-blinded study was conducted from November 2020 to May 2021.
  • Key performance metrics including sensitivity, specificity, and ROC curve analysis were calculated for both OPS and MPS.
  • 100 meniscal tears were analyzed out of 133 initially identified.

Main Results:

  • MPS showed higher sensitivity and specificity for both medial and lateral meniscus repairability compared to OPS.
