Summary
A rare congenital dermoid cyst in a child

Background:

Observation:
- A 2-year-old girl presented with a painless, movable, elastic soft mass on the floor of her mouth.
- Intraoral examination revealed a 15 mm mass. MRI showed a cystic lesion with characteristic T1 and T2 signal intensities.
Findings:
- Surgical excision of the floor of the mouth mass was performed under general anesthesia.
- Histopathological examination confirmed the lesion as a dermoid cyst, measuring 19x14x11 mm.
- The procedure was successful with no complications and a good postoperative recovery.
Implications:
- This case highlights the importance of accurate diagnosis and timely surgical intervention for pediatric oral masses.
