Kratom and Delta-8 THC are unregulated substances often sold together in retail stores. This study found kratom availability was not linked to socioeconomic status but frequently overlapped with Delta-8 THC products.

  • To examine the retail availability of kratom in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • To investigate the relationship between kratom availability and socioeconomic deprivation.
  • To assess the overlap in retail availability between kratom and Delta-8 THC.

Main Methods:

  • Phone surveys were conducted with retail locations holding alcohol, tobacco, and/or CBD licenses.
  • T-tests were used to compare socioeconomic deprivation scores around kratom-selling outlets.
  • Cross-tabulations analyzed the co-availability of kratom and Delta-8 THC.
