Primary vaginal cancer is a rare malignancy, comprising approximately 2% of all gynecological cancers.

Squamous cell carcinoma represents the predominant histological subtype (about 90%), followed by adenocarcinoma (8-10%).

Signet ring cell carcinoma is an uncommon subtype typically found in other organs, with no prior reports in the vagina.
