Summary

Polytetrafluoroethylene polymer (PTFE) sutures showed superior performance over silk sutures in reducing bacterial biofilm after mandibular third molar surgery. This finding suggests PTFE may be a better choice for minimizing bacterial retention in oral surgical wounds.
