[Extrapuerperal discharge of the breast (so-called galactorrhea)]

In a study to explore the incidence and cause of breast discharge, 153 of 6697 outpatients of the Senology Department, University Women's Hospital, were investigated for nipple discharge in a retrospective study from January 1980 to May 1983. The effectiveness of paraclinical investigation methods (radiology, histology, cytology and serum prolactin) was also compared. For the symptom described the authors suggest an investigation plan which offers savings in time and cost.
