A huge prolapsed cervical leiomyoma: A case report.

Cervical leiomyomas are rare uterine tumors. A large, prolapsed cervical leiomyoma can become necrotic, with hysterectomy often being the preferred treatment for this disabling complication.

- The case involved a rare, non-pedunculated, polypoidal cervical leiomyoma.
- Prolapsed cervical leiomyomas can outgrow their blood supply, leading to necrosis.
- Histopathology confirmed a benign cervical leiomyoma without malignancy.
Implications:
- Large, prolapsed cervical leiomyomas present surgical challenges due to proximity to vital structures.
- Gangrenous cervical leiomyomas are a rare but disabling complication.
- Hysterectomy remains a primary treatment option for such cases.
