Summary

Complete tooth loss can cause sunken facial features and psychological distress. This study introduces magnetic cheek plumpers for complete denture wearers to improve facial aesthetics and boost confidence.

Background:

Tooth loss significantly impacts facial structure, leading to sunken lips and cheeks.
This can cause psychological distress and reduced quality of life for patients with complete dentures.
Addressing facial aesthetics is crucial for improving patient confidence and overall well-being.

Observation:

A case report detailing the fabrication of detachable cheek plumpers for a completely edentulous patient.
The cheek plumpers were designed to be retained by magnets for ease of use.
This approach aims to provide adequate support to facial muscles, reducing wrinkles and sagging.

Findings:

Magnet-retained cheek plumpers effectively enhance facial aesthetics in edentulous patients.
The design is small, lightweight, and easy to place and clean.
These plumpers do not add significant weight to the denture prosthesis.

Implications:

Incorporating magnetic cheek plumpers into complete denture treatment plans can significantly improve patient satisfaction.
This innovative solution offers a practical method to restore facial volume and improve aesthetics.
Clinicians should consider such aesthetic enhancements to improve the quality of life for denture wearers.
