Summary

Genetically higher levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) and soluble-endothelial-leukocyte adhesion molecule (sE-selectin) are linked to worse outcomes after ischemic stroke. These adhesion molecules may represent future therapeutic targets for stroke recovery.
