    • Polarizing microscopy confirmed the diagnosis of acute gouty arthritis.
    • Histological examination of the joint tissue was performed.

    Implications:

    • This case expands the known spectrum of joint involvement in gout.
    • Prompt diagnosis and management of gouty arthritis in unusual locations are essential.
    • Further research into the pathogenesis of gout in axial joints may be warranted.
