Abstract:
Maxillofacial bone defect can seriously affect the patient's appearance, mastication, deglutition and speech function. At present, autologous bone grafting combined with implant restoration is an effective method for reconstruction of maxillofacial bone defects. Due to the differences in density, nutrition, immunity and other aspects of bone graft at different donor sites, there may be a potential impact on implant restoration. In this paper, the biological characteristics of vascularized autologous bone used in maxillofacial bone defect restoration were reviewed, and the risk factors of implantation on the bone graft were discussed. It provides support for clinicians in the selection of bone graft donor site and the design of prosthesis.
