Altered serum bile acid composition is associated with cardiac dysfunction in cirrhosis

Elevated conjugated bile acids (BA) in cirrhosis patients are linked to heart abnormalities and hyperdynamic circulation. Taurine-conjugated BA also correlate with portal hypertension, suggesting a role in disease progression.
