Summary

Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1) promotes High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) secretion, worsening inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Inhibiting PARP1 reduces HMGB1, suggesting a new therapeutic strategy for IBD.
