Abstract:
Reports an error in "Applying Bayesian statistics to research on psychological trauma: Introduction to the special section" by Matthew M. Yalch (Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy, 2023[Jan], Vol 15[1], 56-59). In the original article, the citation in the second sentence of the first paragraph of the "Introduction to the Special Section" portion was changed from "Beyta and Cuevas" to "Abeyta and Cuevas," and the reference list was corrected and reordered accordingly. In addition, the year of publication of all articles included in the special section was changed from 2022 to 2023 in the main-text citations and reference list. The online version of this article has been corrected. (The following abstract of the original article appeared in record 2023-37725-001). Use of Bayesian statistics is increasingly common in research in general and in psychological research in particular. This is especially the case for research on psychological trauma, in which the strengths of Bayesian statistics are particularly pronounced. The goals of this introduction to the special section on applying Bayesian statistics to research on psychological trauma are two-fold: first, to overview and discuss the benefits of Bayesian statistics and, second, to introduce the articles in this special section.
