Summary

A rare intraarterial lipoma caused a peripheral artery occlusion, leading to limb ischemia and amputation. This case highlights the need to consider intraarterial lipomas in diagnosing arterial blockages.

Background:

Lipomas are common soft tissue tumors, but intravenous and intraarterial lipomas are exceptionally rare.
Peripheral arterial occlusion is typically caused by atherosclerosis, thrombosis, or embolism.
