A rare fallopian tube papilloma was identified in a patient post-hysterectomy. This case may be only the second documented instance of a true fallopian tube papilloma.

    Area of Science:

    • Gynecologic pathology
    • Reproductive medicine
    • Oncology

    Background:

    • A 41-year-old woman underwent hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy for cervical carcinoma in situ.
    • The patient had no history of significant inflammation, hormone administration, or endogenous hormone excess.

    Observation:

    • A well-defined papilloma was discovered incidentally in the fallopian tube.
    • The papilloma presented as a hydrosalpinx that developed over several months.

    Findings:

    • The fallopian tube papilloma was grossly visible and distinct.
    • Histological examination confirmed the presence of a papilloma within the fallopian tube.

    Implications:

    • This case may represent the second documented instance of a true fallopian tube papilloma.
