Pu J, Huang H, Su J, Yuan J, Cong H, Wang X, Ju S. Decreased expression of long noncoding RNA XLOC_013703 promotes cell growth via NF-κB pathway in multiple myeloma. IUBMB Life. 2019;71:1240-1251. https://doi.org/10.1002/iub.2029 The above article, published online on March 12, 2019 in Wiley Online Library, has been retracted by agreement between the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Editor in Chief (Dr. Stathis Gonos), and Wiley Periodicals LLC. The retraction has been agreed following an investigation based on allegations raised by a third party. The authors cooperated with the investigation but were unable to provide original, unaltered images with sufficient detail to support the published figures and address the concerns raised regarding Figure 5A. As a result, the conclusions of this article are considered to be invalid.

Somatic Spinal Reflexes
One of the most well-known somatic spinal reflexes is the stretch reflex, which is activated by the sudden stretching of a muscle. This reflex involves the activation of specialized sensory receptors called muscle spindles, which are located in the muscle tissue and detect changes in the length and speed of muscle contractions. When a muscle is suddenly...

Relaxation of Skeletal Muscles
When an action potential reaches the axon terminal, it depolarizes the membrane and opens voltage-gated sodium channels. Sodium ions enter the cell, further depolarizing the presynaptic membrane. This depolarization causes voltage-gated calcium channels to open....
