[New drugs for small animals in 2022]

In 2022, 3 novel pharmaceutical A: gents for small animals were released on the German market: the peripheral selective α₂-adrenoceptor antagonist vatinoxan in combination with medetomidine (Zenalpha^®), mesenchymal stem cells from the umbilical cord of horses (DogStem^®) and the ectoparasitic agent tigolaner in combination with emodepside and praziquantel (Felpreva^®). No active substance received an animal species extension. In addition, for small animals, there were new releases of four active ingredients in a novel pharmaceutical formulation (acetylcysteine, clindamycin, metoclopramide, oclacitinib maleate), one drug with a new content of the active ingredient (firocoxib) and one veterinary drug with a new combination of active ingredients in a novel pharmaceutical formulation (ketoconazole+marbofloxacin+prednisolone).
