Long-term results of transpubic prostatomembranous urethroplasty in children

From 1970 to 1985, 30 children between 9 and 13 years old underwent transpubic urethroplasty for traumatic prostatomembranous urethral strictures. Of these patients 5 were followed into adulthood 7 to 10 years postoperatively and were reassessed as to potency, ejaculation, semen quality, psychosexual development, and ability to work and to participate in sports. All of the patients were potent, sexually active and free of any significant impediment to ordinary activity.
