Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) contaminate animal feed, with fish oil and fishmeal showing the highest levels. However, PBDE concentrations in fishmeal have significantly decreased since 2017, indicating effective environmental legislation.

- The observed decrease in PBDE levels in fishmeal suggests that international regulations aimed at reducing these pollutants are effective.
