Summary

Flow-diverting devices (FDDs) show promise for treating complex basilar quadrifurcation aneurysms. This study found FDDs safe and effective, achieving high occlusion rates with manageable complications in 34 patients.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of flow-diverting devices (FDDs) in treating basilar quadrifurcation aneurysms.
  • To assess technical success, complication rates, and long-term occlusion following FDD treatment.
  • To determine the potential benefit of FDDs for previously treated aneurysms with residual or recurrent disease.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective review of 34 patients treated with FDDs for basilar quadrifurcation aneurysms.

  • Further prospective studies are warranted to confirm these findings.
