Endothelial-to-hematopoietic transition is crucial for hematopoietic stem cell generation. A new paper in Development uncovers a role for aquaporins in regulating the morphological changes of hematopoietic stem cells from hemogenic endothelial cells during endothelial-to-hematopoietic transition.
