Does COVID-19 vaccination protect against pulmonary embolism?

COVID-19 vaccination may protect hospitalized patients from pulmonary embolism (PE). Vaccinated individuals showed significantly lower PE prevalence and disease severity compared to unvaccinated patients in this study.

- A strong association exists between COVID-19 vaccination and protection against PE in hospitalized patients.
- Vaccination was linked to significantly lower morbidity from PE in this cohort.
- Further prospective studies are warranted to confirm the protective role of vaccination against COVID-19-associated VTE.
