Summary

Bipedicle scrotal flaps offer a safe and reliable method for penile reconstruction in patients with skin deficits. This technique provides satisfactory outcomes with minimal complications for acquired penile defects.

Background:

Acquired penile defects result from infection, scarring, or urologic procedure complications.
Penile defects with skin deficit present significant reconstructive challenges.
Scrotal flaps are a viable option for penile skin coverage, restoring native qualities.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of bipedicle scrotal flap surgery for acquired penile defects with skin deficit.

Main Methods:

A series of patients with acquired penile defects underwent staged bipedicle scrotal flap surgery.
The senior author performed the reconstructive procedures.

Main Results:

Eight patients received bipedicle scrotal flap reconstruction for penile defects.
All patients achieved satisfactory postoperative outcomes.
Minor complications occurred in only two of the eight patients.

Conclusions:

Bipedicle scrotal flaps are a safe, reproducible, and reliable technique for penile resurfacing in select patients.
This method effectively addresses penile defects with underlying skin deficits.
